2001 DXpedition to Cedar Key Lighthouse

at Seahorse Key

The QSL Card

This, what we like to call it, Mini DXpedition. The reason for calling it that is, you go on a DXpedition just a few miles from your home. In my case just a little over a hour driving time and a 30 minute boat ride in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. No passport need. This event occurred during the 2001 Cedar Key Seafood Festival Weekend October 20-21. Operated for 24 hours and 1069 QSO's / WAS on 10-40 meters.

We enjoyed teaming up with our host, the ---> Cedar Key National Wildlife Refuge the--->University of Florida Seahorse Key Marine Laboratory the ---> Florida Lighthouse Association and ---> the Friends and Volunteers of Refuges FAVOR to help promote awareness and understanding of the enduring and valuable resources that the National Wildlife Refuges provide for our natural heritage."
